The ROC Netball Club are excited to announce the appointment of our new A grade coach, Simon O’Shanassy!
Simon brings so much experience and knowledge to our club! With 20 years as head coach at Gippsland Storm and over 20 premierships under his belt, we are in good hands! He has also represented Victoria six times and was selected in the All Australian Men’s team so he knows netball from all angles. We are looking forward to a big 2021 with Simon on board!

A few words from Simon...
Firstly, I’d personally like to thank the ROC Netball Club, for the opportunity to coach the A Grade side in 2021.

As an outsider, I’ve always seen the ROC Netball Club to be a club full of potential throughout the Senior and Junior squads, with some fantastic Junior Netballers who have the potential to be future A Grade netballers.

Whilst the A Grade has not enjoyed the ultimate success for some time, I’m hoping that my influence, guidance and experience can take us one step closer to that elusive Premiership in Division 1 in 2021.

For that success to come to the fore, it’s vitally important that every athlete who represents ROC A Grade in 2021, and all athletes that wear the colours of the ROC Netball club, “buy into” what we’re planning.

There will be a certain level of expectation on all our A Grade netballers in 2021, that will hopefully see us match it with, and give us the edge, over the best sides in the Division One competition.

I’ve also indicated to the netball club my intention to recognise and promote as many Junior netballers in 2021, which will ensure the long term success of the club.

So I say to current , potential and past ROC Netballers , get on board for what will be a fantastic and exciting year for our club.
