ROC 30 lost to Beaconsfield 63

Girls started the game well with the endeavor and commitment that i ask of them. The game started to slip away as beacy started to hit their straps, and unfortunatley the girls could  not hold on, against a very good opposition. I was very pleased that the girls tried consistantly to implement changes we have been working on. Look forward to the challenge that is Pakenham and all i can ask is we give a good account of ourselves against another quality opponent. Well Done Girls

Despite the loss, it was a positive game for ROC. After a bit of annihilation earlier in the year, ROC came out ready to prove a point. With more new players in the team it was great to see the adjustments they made for each other on court. The girls have developed a realization of what they are capable of and with increased commitment to training and the team game it is exciting what is possible for the rest of the season.

At our home courts ROC d grade received a netball lesson from ladder leaders Beaconsfield, losing by 40 goals. The girls have come a long way this season so will bounce back for next weeks game against Pakenham.

Girls had a good win against beacy, all girls played there part and the result was a good one. In the coming weeks we will start preparing ourselves in readiness for the finals, but first things first we look forward to playing this week against Pakenham. Well Done Girls.

The girls had a huge fight on tier hands from the very beginning, coming up against a strong and determined Beaconsfield team. We had some terrific sets of play and didn't lose it in any particular area or part of the game. I'm very proud of the improvement in every single player and would like to congratulate all my little ROCettes on their fantastic team spirit - we'll get them during finals! Go ROC

It was a tough four quarters against a strong Beaconsfield side. A slow start and some errors allowed Beacy to capitalise on the score board, causing ROC to chase for the whole game. The girls worked hard to create opportunity but were being held up by a strong Beaconsfield defence who ensured they were able to hold onto a win. Back to training with renewed focus will hopefully see the girls return to the winners list.

Fantastic game this week against a very strong Beaconsfield team. We matched them for three quaters, only down by 3 going into the last.  Unfortunatly we fell away to lose by 7 but can definatly hold our heads high considering we lost by 16 last time we met and were completely outplayed.  Great effort very proud coaches :)  Award went to Eb this week after a stella performance in Defence.

Without their "normal" superstar coach Dotti, the girls turned up bright eyed and bushy tailed to play some great netball. These girls are seriously so young and have some fantastic potential - it makes me very excited to watch this group of girls work their way through the ranks at the club.  There were some great sets of play and I was delighted to have been able to coach you all - don't forget your VITAMINS!!! Go baby ROCettes!!!!

ROC 28 lost to Doveton 61

Good effort by the girls to show they have made improvements since the last time the teams met closing the margin by 10 goals. There is still a lot of improvement in this group but it is going to take persistence and hard work to become a competitive team in this competition. Look forward to the challenge that is Beaconsfield and hope we can again show our improvement.

Hard fought game in tough weather conditions.  Solid defensive effort with some fantastic attacking plays; great 3rd atr, but unfortunately consistency couldn’t be maintained and Doveton came out with a narrow but deserved win.

Wind, rain and cold are never ideal conditions for netball, but that wasn’t going to stop C Grade this week as they continue their winning run. An even first quarter allowed players to adjust to the conditions and then take control of the game. Our usual game plan was hindered by a slippery court, but the girls adapted well, steadied and took the safe path to goal. Everyone is working hard defensively to create turnovers and it is impressive to see the team gel more each week. Missing players due to injury and holidays, we thank Katelyn Vincent for stepping on court and playing a part and Lauren Ward for staying wrapped in the blanket ‘just in case!’.

We were fortunate to be playing indoor on a a cold winters day against Doveton. Everyone put In a. great effort to transfer training skills to game day and accommodate new playing positions. We achieved our goal of winning the third quarter and were ahead all day except for the last quarter when we dropped our bundle and let Doveton back into the game, only winning by 2 goals.

In pretty ordinary conditions, raining and windy most of the game the girls played well; and had another convincing victory. Looking forward to the break this week and we will prepare ourselves to take on Beacy.  Good games played by Ash Barnett & Sam Neil, finally it was good to have back Jamie Armstrong who returned after injury.

A slow start to the U/15 Red girls on Saturday against Doveton.  However with half the team having played in a 4 day tournament in the preceeding days we knew it was going to test our mentality and strength as a team.  Sure enough the girls came out firing in the last 3 quarters to deekp doveton to a minimal 1 gals and scoring 30 of our own.  Congratulations girls, youre improving each and every week – watch out Beacy we’re ready this time! GO ROCettes!!!

It was the perfect day to play indoors against Doveton and the girls made the most of avoiding the elements. Sharp shooting from Tessa and Em C along with tight defence from Taylah and Courtney made it tough for the opposition to convert. Midcourters Bianca, Em W and Steph kept running all game, providing opportunity for the goalers. With a couple of players missing, it was a good four quarter performance by the team which resulted in another strong win. Thank you to Molly and Kate for keeping the bench warm!

ROC 14 lost to Doveton 32

We were always going to be up against it this week, a stronger Doveton than we played last time, three players unavailable and going into the game with a straight seven.  As we were short this week we borrowed Zoe from the White team, she was super excited to play with us.  Our first quarter was pretty competitive, although we lost the quarter i thought we still did very well.  The second quarter was not what i expected, losing it by 11 goals.  A few changes in the third quarter and only lost the 3rd by 1, we finished with a strong last quarter and won the last by 1 but the damage was already done.  A good game by all considering the circumstances with players forced to be played out of position.  Special thanks to Dotti for giving us Zoe for the game and of course big thanks to Zoe.  Zoe played very strong in defence all game picking up many intercepts and taking out the award for this week.

Great improvement from our first match against Doveton.  Defence played great, shooters didn’t miss much.  We were really lucky to be inside on a rainy day.

Another win against a top five side is positive signs for ROC C Grade. In another team effort, the girls worked hard defensively, showed patience in moving the ball around the court and chased loose balls all day to overcome Cranbourne in the second half. Massive commendations to all players who continue to adapt to new combinations on court each week. Well done team, let’s keep up the great work!

It felt like a tough day on the court but in reality only one quarter was beyond our reach. Our solid three quarters showed some positive passages, maintaining possession, working through tight defence and into goals. Our future focus needs to be developing a positive mental attitude when faced with challenges. We will bounce back from our loss to Cranbourne to take on Hampton Park at home.

This was a great game, our goalers moved well, defenders were tight and reading the play well and our mid courters put pressure on all game and lead strong.  Our last quarter was not the best, maybe next game we can put in a four quarter effort. Great job by Jaymee this week who played a fantastic game in C both attacking and defending and taking out this weeks award.

ROC 27 def Tooradin 26

Tooradin were quick out of the blocks, leaving ROC with the job ahead of them at quarter time. A more settled 2nd quarter saw minimal change in the margin at half time. After a 1 goal loss to Keysborough in the previous round the girls were not letting another game get away. A solid defensive effort from all players stemmed the flow of Tooradin goals in the third quarter and narrowed the margin to 3 goals. All girls were looking tired but with 110% effort worked hard for the final 12 minutes to snatch a one goal victory. It was a deserving win for the team who showed the best team effort of the season and proved to themselves what they can achieve as one.

With a full squad we met Tooradin at home. Despite having plenty of the ball, we were struggling with accuracy in goals and were even at quarter time, managing to pull away to a two  goal lead by half time. Tooradin's positional changes in the third quarter proved challenging and at three quarter time we were down by one. With great support from off the court and gritty determination on the court the girls united to play a fantastic defensive fourth quarter, starving Tooradin of opportunity to win by  six.

Today's game we came away with a strong result and reached our goal of over 10 goals per quarter.  Although there were many positives and it was an all-round great game, as a team we need to step up the intensity of defence going down the court and play one on one.  Well done girls for another great win.

A week off from a game and training had the girls ready to play and win. They made a fast start and continued to work hard for the whole game. Tight defence across the court gave plenty of opportunities to our accurate goalers who continually converted. They adapted to rotations well every quarter, stayed focused and got the result we were aiming for.

We started off well taking a 10 goal to 5 lead at the end of the first.  The second & third quarters were very messy and we let Tooradin back into the game only leading by 1 going into the last.  A good 10 goal last quarter saw us win by 8.  The award went to Alexis who played a great game in C and WD.

We all played an excellent game.  There were a lot of intercepts and although the ball didn't go down the defence end very much when it did our defence was excellent.  Our shooters played very well and hardly missed.
