A Grade

ROC 28 lost to Cranbourne 49

Started out much the same as B grade and at times carried the ball from defence to goals very well and were rewarded but could not maintain for four quarters both teams show we can improve, so we are still very positive for the season ahead.
Wishing Mel a very speedy recovery.
-Ray & Marie

B Grade

ROC 16 lost to Cranbourne 55

We made a good start and were competitive in 1st half, scoring was a problem in the second half, but we were pleased to see some of the training set ups being tried and with more training this will only improve and will show on the score board.
-Ray & Marie

C Grade

ROC 33 def Cranbourne 30

The C Grade game was a high intensity game with both teams never giving up. It was an awesome performance by both teams with ROC coming away with a 3 goal win. The ROC girls all played at 120% and did everything their coaches requested. The defensive players worked hard and forced errors on the opposition. The attacking players gave much needed drive and brought the ball to the goalers who were accurate with their shooting. All in all a great team effort for the first game together. Remember girls, wok on your fitness and we will bring the smarts into the game. GO ROC. Coaches out.

D Grade

ROC 19 lost to Cranbourne 41

The girls were keen to play together for the first time after a limited pre season. Cranbourne burst out of the blocks in the first quarter and left us standing but we didn't let them get more than a 5 goal lead in the following quarters going down 19 v 41. There was great encouragement and advice given to each other on the court and players listened to and applied coaching advice to each individually improve their game and hence contribute positively to the team effort. We can only improve from here as player positions settle. Bring on the next match.

U17 Red

ROC 42 def Cranbourne 13

A great start to the season with a great win.  Great defensive pressure from Jamie Armstrong & Ally Kilpatrick.
Collective as a team full court pressure, creating a number of turnovers. Coach very happy as the team followed all instructions which showed in the score line.
Good start for the girls with the expectations for improvement throughout the year.

U15 Red

ROC 21 lost to Cranbourne 19

The defenders applied a lot of pressure out of the ring with prevented it from going in.  Overall they did quite well although we need to be tighter and work on drives out of the ring.  Special mention to Laura and Hannah who played a game of high intensity under the conditions but midcourters need to work on positioning on the ring.  Goalers need to work on rebound position and defending the ball but overall played well and there were good sets plays down the court.
Well done girls and bring on next week.
-Larissa

U13 Red

ROC 24 def Cranbourne 19

ROC had success in round one winning 24/19, tight game all four quarters but came away winning on  the day.  BOC winner Korrina Pol Bodetto.
-Korrina.

Really good start to the season with a tough game against strong opposition, Cranbourne got the jump on us early with their GA scoring 8 goals in the first quarter.  Shannon was moved onto her in the second quarter and was sensational in keeping her scoreless in that quarter.  The goalers battled hard all game against a strong physical Cranbourne defence and the mid courters were also pushed.  Special mention to Shannon and Korrina on awesome games.
Overall we worked well as a team and I’m very happy with all performances on the court from the goalers, mid courters and defenders.
-Shane
